Bridgette Francis, The Spotlight Award
Bridgette Francis is the President of the largest independent scholarship matching and international college planning firm in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. She is the first Bahamian to be bestowed with American and Canadian International Education Partnerships recognition by several universities/colleges at the same time. Bridgette has matched hundreds of persons from The Bahamas with international scholarship opportunities. Students of her organization can be found in the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
Bridgette obtained a diploma in 1991 from ST. Augustine’s College in Nassau, Bahamasand was bestowed with a prestigious business award. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in finance and banking from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.Due to her accomplishments and leadership in university, Bridgette was listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She successfully completed the Oxford, Yale, and Stanford Universities’AllLearn Consortium Program on Globalization and the New Global Economy. Bridgette was the first Bahamian selected to the prestigious Americas Geographic Group of The Financial Planning Association.
Being a person committed to service, Bridgette served as the President of Catholic Action Group (Bahamas) with Fr. Elias Achatz as Chaplain. Bridgette was the first International and first black person to receive the Distinguished Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Service Award. Bridgette was recognized as One of the Leaders of The World for the field of the Internationalization of Higher Education in New Jersey at Montclair State University in October 2018. In March 2019, Bridgette was honored as one of the 25 Most Influential Bahamian Women in Business by Professional Services Bahamas.
Bridgette enjoys gardening, swimming, and mentoring others. She is the daughter of the Oscar Francis and Marilyn Francis.
